Prize success for PhD students
6 07 2017Bit of prize success for PhD students Lucy Taylor and Dan Sankey. Lucy won best poster prize at the Annual Main Meeting for the Society for Experimental Biology (with “Fellowship of the Wing”), and Dan won best talk at the annual RHUL Symposium. Nice work.

Pigeon paper accepted in JEB
30 05 2017PhD student Lucy Taylor has had her first pigeon-related PhD paper accepted, entitled “Homing pigeons modulate wingbeat characteristics as a function of route familiarity”. The paper will be out in The Journal of Experimental Biology – more details to follow when published.

Hawk Conservancy Work
8 05 2017Great work today at The Hawk Conservancy, working again with their trained birds. Flight data now gathered from 27 different species of birds of prey in total, involving over 40 individuals. Also got a chance to play with the camera.
