Our paper has been published in The Journal of Experimental Biology. This paper looks at many different species, and how eggs are adapted to their immediate nest environment. You can read the paper here!

My latest Outside JEB article is out. This one reports on a recent Current Biology paper about octopus arms. You can read the article, titled “Octopuses don’t get their arms in a twist!, here.

Had a fantastic time at Biologging 5. Thanks to those that organised it! Really enjoyed the two talks I gave, and a big thank you to Dr Emily Shephard and Dr Olivier Duriez for inviting me to talk in their Flight Symposium. Look forward to finishing the accompanying paper. 

Our cuckoo paper has been published in Journal of Zoology. We got the front cover too! The excellent photo showing the slightly larger cuckoo egg hatching first is courtesy of co-author Dr Tomas Grim. You can read the paper here!

A paper we published in Functional Ecology has been featured in the BBC News. The story can be read here, and is based on our paper titled “First Light for Avian Embryos” (click the link to read the full paper).

I recently published a paper in the Careers section of the journal Science, with Dr Stephanie Pierce (Harvard University) which talks about sharing data safety. The piece, titles “Who’s Looking at your Data?”, can be found here!.

Our paper on V formation flight has been published in Nature. Check out our Ibis on the front cover of the issue (thanks to the Waldrappteam for photos and general involvement). A great News and Views was included and can be found here, and a documentary was filmed by the Nature team, and can be watched here. Our paper published in Nature has been  featured in numerous news outlets, papers and online blogs. Some of the highlights have included New York Times, BBC and National Geographic. The whole project was a fantastic group effort between the Structure and Motion Lab and the Waldrappteam.

Our paper on the aerodynamic interactions between birds during V formation flight has been accepted for publication in Nature!  More information to follow!
