Secretary Bird Kick-hunting Mechanics
Our paper titled “The fast and forceful kicking strikes of snake-hunting Secretary Birds (Sagittarius serpentarius)” has been accepted in Current Biology, which is excellent. This was a collaboration with Monica Daley at the Royal Veterinary College, with Emily Sparkes and Dr Campbell Murn at the Hawk Conservancy Trust. More details to follow.

Siamese’s and Prinia Eggs
Lots on the go in the lab at the moment. Trying to establish the dominance hierarchy in the 35 male Siamese Fighting Fish, and measuring conductance in tiny Prinia eggs, kindly on loan from Claire Spottiswoode at Cambridge.
